The world premiere of T. Kantor’s most recent performance I Shall Never Return at Piccolo Teatro Studio in Milan (23 April).
The Cricot 2 Theatre shows Let the Artists Die at Teatro Nuova Dogana in San Marino, at Teatro “A” in Salerno and I Shall Never Return at the Akademie der Künste in West Berlin, at La Mama ETC in New York City, at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, at Teatro Auditórium in Palma de Mallorca, at Théâtre Garonne in Toulouse, at Théâtre National Populaire in Lyon – Villeurbanne.
T. Kantor presents Macchina dell`amore e della morte (Cricotage) in Helsinki and in Vaasa.
With an international group of actors, mime artists and puppeteers he arranges Un tres courte leçon (Cricotage) at the Institut International de la Marionnette in Charleville-Mézieres (August 16 to September 10).
T. Kantor’s latest paintings exhibition “Plus loin, rien” opens on March 5.

The Cricot 2 Theatre stages I Shall Never Return at Théâtre des Treize Vents in Montpellier, at Théâtre Roger Salengro in Lille, at Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona, at Teatro Albéniz in Madrid, at Teatro Il Vascello in Rome, at Grand Auditorium de la Foundation Gulbenkian in Lisbon, and at Tafelhalle in Nuremberg.
The Dead ClassWielopole, WielopoleLet the Artists Die and I Shall Never Return presented at the festival of the Cricot 2 Theatre “Le Retour” (May to June) in Paris. An international symposium “Tadeusz Kantor, peintre, homme de théâtre, ses résonances a la fin du XX siecle” at the Centre Georges Pompidou (June 29 to 30).  
 “Plus loin, rien” exhibition of T. Kantor’s painting held at the Galerie de France (June 22 to September 1). An exhibition “Tadeusz Kantor. Le Voyage” at the Centre Georges Pompidou.
Rehearsals for Aujourd`hui c`est mon anniversaire commence in Cracow.
 
1990
The Cricot 2 Theatre presents I Shall Never Return at Stary Teatr in Cracow, at the Stodoła Club in Warsaw, at Parco Theatre in Tokyo and The Dead Class at Teatro Capitol in Salerno, at Teatro Petruzelli in Bari, and at Reykjavik Theatre in Reykjavik.
In Avignon Kantor runs a training for a score of young artists, with whom he arranges Cricotage Ô douce nuit . 
Prepares his final performance Aujourd`hui c`est mon anniversaire in Cracow and Toulouse.
The Polish-French symposium “Art and Freedom” dedicated to T. Kantor’s artistic activity is organized in Cracow (April 9 to 11).
T. Kantor`s drawings exhibition at Galerie Poll in West Berlin. 
An exhibition of his drawings, paintings and art-objects at Spicchi dell`Est Gallery in Rome (June 11 to July 20).
 
Kantor dies on December 8, 1990, in Cracow. Artist’s funeral is held on December 14 at Rakowicki Cemetery in Cracow.
 
His last performance Aujourd`hui c`est mon anniversaire completed by the Cricot 2 group has its world premiere at Théâtre Garonne in Toulouse on January 1, 1991, and at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris on January 21, 1991.
