7 pm Square in front of the New Building – “unwrapping” of the Old Building

 7–9.30 pm Visiting Tadeusz Kantor’s permanent exhibition and Nothing Twice temporary exhibition in groups of 30

 7–10 pm Square in front of the New Building – Nick Hallett’s DJ set

7–10 pm Theatre Room – B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Beamer). This innovative exhibition format, started by Rafael Rozendaal in Berlin in 2010, consists in taking over public and private spaces for guerilla video presentations by means of beamers.

9.10 pm Education Room – the radio premiere of Lord Kantor, Mateusz Pakuła’s original radio play prepared by Radio Kraków for the opening of Cricoteka. Music: Antonis Skolias. Cast: Wiktor Loga-Skarczewski, Jan Peszek, Zuzanna Skolias.

11 am–12 Workshop for children, Education Room

Workshop for children aged 3.5-5. Number of participants limited.
Run by: Justyna Sławik

Children are invited to participate in a workshop inspired by ENVELOPE used by Tadeusz Kantor in his works. What’s in an envelope? Can one get inside it? Treasure hunt and playing with contrast, space, and graphicality. Sinking of envelopes in a colourful foam, forming paper pulp, and a lot of physical activity!

12 noon Workshop at Nothing Twice exhibition

Marvin Gaye Chetwynd will invite the audience to animate dioramas, which are part of the exhibition. Duration: 45 minutes. Workshop held in English.

6 pm Concert – Nothing Twice, Theatre Room

Jaap Blonk will perform Kurt Schwitter’s Usonate and a fragment of Guy de Cointet’s novel Espahor ledet Ko Uluner!. The book was published in 1973 under the pen name Qei No Mysxdod in a language invented by the author.

7 pm OperaNothing Twice, Theatre Room

An opera in one act by American artist Shana Moulton and musician Nick Hallett with the participation of soprano vocalist Marzena Lubaszka. The heroine – Cynthia – is a woman suffering from various phobias. She makes a journey through hallucinatory and fairy-tale landscapes in the style of the artist’s previous works. The performance is part of the Whispering Pines series, going on since 2002.

8 pm Film – Nothing Twice, Theatre Room

In April this year American artist Michael Portnoy told 100 Beautiful Jokes in five hours to his audience in Amsterdam. The film presented at Cricoteka is a special recording of that afternoon.

11 am–1 pm Workshop for children, Theatre Room
Workshop for children aged 6-12. Number of participants limited. Run by: Justyna Sławik.

We invite children to participate in the workshop inspired by an umbrella – an everyday object which is very important in Tadeusz Kantor’s work. Is an umbrella always colourful? Can you hide in it? Can you cut it, crease it, tear it to pieces? What function does it perform and what can you use it for? Playing with space, multimedia, body and object. Discovering unusual functions of umbrellas, playing with light and colour combined with constructing a large-scale installation. Registration required: rezerwacje@cricoteka.pl

A prominent Dutch musician and performer Jaap Blonk will run workshop in English for those who would like to develop their vocal skills. The artist employs playful methods with elements of improvisation and drama. Duration: 3 hours. Registration required: rezerwacje@cricoteka.pl

6 pm and 7.30 pm Performance – Nothing Twice, Theatre Room

A second in the series of theatrical projects by Catherine Sullivan using “found” stage performances. The project employs the techniques of ready-made, appropriation and collage. The performance is created in collaboration with Opera Buffa Theatre in Warsaw under the management of Katarzyna Wińska. Participants: Maciej Czerwiński, Piotr Glikson, Renata Luciak, Zofia Marczak, Jan Małkowski, Zygmunt Wiktor, Mariola Przybyłowska, Antoni Talko-Porzecki, Hanna Sokołowska, Małgorzata Sokołowska, Tadeusz Strumiłło. With additional performance by Beata Pilch and Bogdan Renczyński. Special thanks to: Bagatela Theatre, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Foksal Gallery Foundation, Theatre Institute and Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
