The Machine of Torture

“A reconstruction. Only the metal construction is the old one, made in 1967. It consists of two boxes on wheels. On one of them lay the actor playing Wałpor’s part in Witkiewicz’s play “The Water-Hen”. In the other another actor was placed, hidden inside except for his bare feet. The boxes, covered with black fabric, would move apart, which made the impression of the tortured man’s body being stretched beyond the limits of probability.”
