YANN CHATEIGNĖ TYTELMAN

BLACK HOLES. AFTER KANTOR: BODY, MATTER, POSSESION
Lecture, duration: 45 min
Theatre Bagatela, Sarego 7, Kraków

As an extension, incarnation or appendix to his essay for this publication, Black Holes, Yann Chateigné will share sounds, images and videos. In an eclectic lecture, he elaborates on dusty eccentricity, critical theatricality, disquieting strangeness, and nostalgia in the work of Kantor. Other elements like the copy and the dummy, actors as amateurs, moving around the stage, and the comical life of sculptures will be discussed. The works by Jos de Gruyter and Harald Thys, Nathaniel Mellors, Mike Kelley, and Edward Kienholz are amongst some of the contemporary references that he makes in relation to the broad work of Tadeusz Kantor.
